Manchester Codes is the UK’s original part-time coding school and currently the only one that covers full-stack software development (both front-end and backend). We will take you from having little or no prior coding experience (apart from the material we ask you to learn for the interview), and over the course of 26 intense weeks we cover all of the fundamentals required for you to be able to obtain an entry-level Software Development role.
We welcome applications from everybody. Our aim is to make coding accessible for as many people as possible, so we strongly encourage applications from: underrepresented groups who might not consider a career in tech as a viable option for them; those who can’t afford to quit their full-time jobs; and those who have other commitments such as parents, carers etc. We exist to help decrease the digital skills gap and lack of diversity within the tech industry.
Our price is lower than other full-time coding bootcamps and University courses – this isn’t because we offer less than these alternatives, but rather because we believe everybody should have the chance to career-change into tech and therefore we keep our costs (and prices) as low as possible in order to make our courses accessible to as many people as possible. We also offer discounts to underrepresented groups, and fully-funded scholarships to those on low incomes. Find out more here.
We will provide you with lectures given by experienced developers, bespoke and detailed walkthroughs, and a learning environment reflective of the workplace where you can work on projects with others. However, learning to code is no easy feat, and many find it to be more difficult than in their previous experiences in education. Therefore, the course is very intense. Be ready to invest 26+ hours a week on top of your other commitments – we can guide you but your development is ultimately down to you.
